This is a 1988 classic interview between three influential pioneers of space. Carl Sagan, Stephen Hawking and Arthur C. Clarke. An astronomer, a theoretical physicist and a science fiction author and filmmaker. Discussing black holes, the big bang theory and mankind.
Freedom of expression is liberating especially through music. I love how music expresses our culture, ideas and shows how diverse we are but at the end of the day, we all want the same thing, which is to express ourselves.
I don’t think language can cope with the magnificence of space. We need to evolve and come up with new words to explain the massive scale of the universe, not just mathematically, but linguistically. Visually, i believe we can. Thanks to our up to date telescopes. We not only can measure space but we can see it too (up to a certain point, which is before the big bang). We are able to go back in time to hundreds of millions of light years to appreciate the construct of the universe. This 1977 video is one of many showing us visually the space we live in.
Words cannot describe how I felt, after chasing the lights for many years. The best way to share this experience and to describe the Northern Lights is through photography. It wasn’t easy taking the pictures, as you have to deal with many factors: 1.The excitement 2. The freezing cold temperatures 3. Staying awake from midnight to sunrise 4. Keeping warm 5. The technical equipment 6. The long drive and securing location. During our stay in Tromso, Norway it was raining and snowing the whole time except for our last night, where we joined the excellent Arctic Explorers, who led us all the way into Finland and its dry night and clear skies for a chance to find the aurora borealis. Finally we saw them, and here I’ll let the photos describe my emotions. Technical note: when you have your shutter open for as long as 30 seconds, all forms of light will get into the picture. In one photo, you will see a red light, this was from the brake lights of our van.

Ayaan Hirsi Ali went face to face with her family, clan, sub clan, society, strangers, the system and politics to get to where she is today*(this book was written in 2007). She is one hell of a courageous woman.Wonderful read!
